TWELVE STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL LEESBURG RETREAT RECRUITING

STEP ONE: (RETREAT COORDINATOR) First of all, designate person to be a Leesburg Retreat Coordinator. Consult with your pastor, United Methodist Men's Fellowship President, or Don Heishman .

STEP TWO: (VISIBILITY) Since all of the money has to be in by August 15, designate a Leesburg "KICK OFF" Sunday (at the earliest possible date). The Retreat Coordinator would need to make a poster and place it conspicuously on an easel in the sanctuary. This position should be manned each Sunday until July 31.

STEP THREE: (BULLETIN SUPPORT) Get the "KICK OFF" Sunday information and retreat information in your bulletin. This information should remain in the bulletin thru July .

STEP FOUR: (NEWSLETTER SUPPORT) Get the "KICK OFF" Sunday information and retreat information in you church newsletter. This information should remain in the newsletter thru July .

STEP FIVE: (PASTOR SUPPORT) The pastor needs to push Leesburg retreats from the pulpit! Discuss this with him/her and keep him/her posted on just how things are progressing.

STEP SIX: (MEN'S FELLOWSHIP SUPPORT) Get the United Methodist Men's Fellowship behind the Leesburg Retreats. With their support, you recruiting job will be greatly enhanced.

STEP SEVEN: (PULPIT SUPPORT) Get the pastor to let you have a few minutes to "KICK OFF" the drive and later remind the congregation from the pulpit to sign up for the retreats.

STEP EIGHT: (BE CONSERVATIVE) If you had no one attend before, bring 12 this year....if 12 last year, 20 this year. From this point it takes off with great success.

STEP NINE: (CALL FOR HELP) Call Don Heishman (863-815-3692; toll free 877-815-3692) if you need help!

STEP TEN: (VISIT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES) Visit each adult Sunday School Class and make your pitch. Also visit other church functions such as Prayer Breakfasts, church dinners, Bible studies etc.

STEP ELEVEN: (GET KNOWN AS MR. LEESBURG) Do not push too hard.... but push.... be aggressive.

STEP TWELVE: (GET THE CHECKS) Put the money in the United Methodist Men's bank account. At the appropriate time write one check and send it with the completed reservation form to Don Heishman.
